Duties and Responsibilities:

Skookum, an award winning, non-profit organization seeks a dynamic Marketing and Communications Specialist to support our mission of “Creating Opportunities for People with Disabilities”. This position is responsible for providing support to the Director of Marketing and Communications in all marketing and communications functions; both internal and external. It requires an ability to adapt to changing work demands and a variety of projects as they arise. Flexibility is a must for this position. 

Education/Experience:

• AA Degree or equivalent in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design or related field; and/or two year’s equivalent experience or study
• Experience organizing events
• Experience coordinating people around events and schedules
• Experience creating newsletters, brochures and digital marketing
• Computer Literacy is required to include Microsoft Office Software; Outlook, Publisher, PowerPoint, Word, Excel. Also experience using Adobe Dreamweaver. Experience with Adobe In Design would be a plus.
• Must possess excellent written communication skills.
• Must have demonstrated ability to work with personnel representing a wide range of businesses,
• Required to travel to various job sites in Kitsap, Jefferson and Pierce County
• Must be an effective communicator with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures
• Experience in Public Speaking and working with the business community is helpful
• Must be able to pass extensive background check
• Must have capacity to manage diverse tasks
• Must be able to work independently and have sound time management skills
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Must have a clean driving record and be able to be insured by Skookum
