By contract Skookum is responsible for the management and servicing of Public recyclables collection box sites county wide; the processing and marketing of recyclables received from public sites, residential curbside and commercial collection haulers in Jefferson County and the City of Port Townsend. In addition to the resource recovery plan Skookum contracts with the County to provide a work-training program for adult residences with developmental disabilities at the recycle facility. The Skookum operated Jefferson Recycling Center accepts electronics for recycling. You can bring your old or broken TV's, VCR's, personal computers and monitors, cell phones, printers, and cameras to our site on County Landfill Rd in Port Townsend. For 35¢ a pound, we'll box up and send your electronics to a state-of-the-art recycling facility. There, the equipment will be disassembled and metals, hazardous materials or components can be recycled or reused. Any data on a personal computer hard drive will be destroyed. Location and Hours The recycle center is located at 301 County Landfill Road, just outside of Port Townsend off of Jacob Miller Road. The facility is open Monday through Saturday from 9 AM to 4:30 PM for fiber and non fiber recycling.
