Announcing Skookum’s Rebrand

We are excited to announce our new name, Tessera! This is a change that reflects our growth, values, and vision for the future. The rebrand represents our commitment to excellence, innovation, and inclusivity. Watch the video below to hear our CEO, Jeff Dolven, introduce our new name and discuss the rebrand.

Why We Are Rebranding

Our legacy name, Skookum, has served us well for over 36 years. However, as we’ve expanded beyond the Pacific Northwest, we’ve encountered misconceptions about our identity and affiliations. Some have mistakenly believed that we are associated with Native American tribes due to the origin of our name in the Chinook trade language. This rebrand helps clarify our identity and better reflect who we are today. We will officially transition to our new name, Tessera, on March 17th, 2025.

What’s New?

  • Visual Identity: Our new name and logo symbolize the innovation and energy driving our organization forward.
  • Messaging: Our updated messaging will more clearly highlight our organization to communicate more effectively with our audience.
  • Digital Presence: We are launching a new website on March 17th with updated navigation, making it easier to communicate our mission and core values.

What Stays the Same?

Our purpose remains unwavering:

  • Empowering Individuals with Disabilities: Providing meaningful employment opportunities for people with disabilities and veterans remains at the core of our mission
  • Delivering Excellence: Our commitment to top-notch services in our contracts.
  • Fostering Community and Collaboration: We are dedicated to fostering community within our organization and the communities we serve.

Looking Ahead

Our rebrand marks a significant milestone in our organization. Thank you for being part of our journey, and stay tuned for more updates.
